A Postcard and a Prayer from
Mennonite Women USA: April 2017
A Prayer for Women at Work
by Anita Hooley Yoder
God the first creator,
We pray today for women who work.
For women who teach, heal, write, preach, sing, sew.
For women who knead bread, repair machinery, pack mailbags,
adjust numbers in spreadsheets.
For women who wash the bodies of the young and old.
For women whose gentle words calm fears
and women whose words ripple with anger at injustice.
Give us courage. Give us endurance. Give us joy.
Forgive us for the times we have sought our worth in our work,
and not in you.
May we live into the rhythm of labor and rest you commanded.
May we persist in what you have called us to do.

Anita Hooley Yoder  is the author or our centennial book,  Circles of Sisterhood.
She works in campus ministry at Notre Dame College, and she lives in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with her husband, Ben, where they attend Friendship Mennonite Church.
MTAL meets at Mennonite World Conference 2015
The Movement of Anabaptist Women doing Theology in Latin America (MTAL) is inviting women around the world to organize a day of prayer in the month of May.

The purpose of the day of prayer is to unite the global network of Anabaptist women in celebrating the impact women have made in the 500 years since the Protestant Reformation and the start of the Anabaptist movement.

Women are encouraged to share photos of their celebrations on the MTAL blog by emailing Ester Bornes at esterbornes@hotmail.com.

MTAL has provided a liturgy (available in both English and Spanish) for women to use or adapt for their day of prayer.

In Honor + Memory
Many women and women's groups donate in memory or honor of significant women in their lives. See the list of recent donors and who they've honored.

Centennial Resources
Many of the stories, poems and songs you've submitted to celebrate our centennial are up on the MW USA website and available to download.
