“ I can’t put into words how this weekend changed me and my relationship with my wife, but it is much better than when we started.
It’s more than I could ever have imagined. You really have to experience it and if you do, I know you’ll be glad you did ...and so will those you love!”

Farm Day 2025 Was Fabulous!!
A Fun Time Was Had By All, 2-Legged & 4-Legged Alike
We are thrilled to say that our recent Farm Day event was an incredible success! More than 150 people from our community joined us to meet our therapy horses and farm animals, enjoy the cool weather and experience firsthand the healing power of horses. The day was filled with laughter, smiles, and meaningful connections as families, children, and adults came together to celebrate the special role horses play in our lives.
Thanks to the generosity and support of our community, we welcomed dozens of new volunteers who are excited to become part of the Helping Hands family. We also received many thoughtful donations, including contributions toward the upcoming surgery of our beloved horse, Rhapsody.
Your kindness ensures that we can continue to provide her with the love, care, and rehabilitation she needs while carrying out our mission of healing through horses.
Volunteer Spotlight
KERIA
“I began volunteering at the ranch because I grew up on a horse rescue for part of my life, and horses have always been a source of healing, family, and connection for me.
After losing our ranch following my father’s passing, I felt as though I had lost a piece of myself. Volunteering at the ranch has allowed me to reconnect with that part of my life, bringing me comfort and fulfillment. It not only helps me heal, but also gives me purpose knowing that by supporting the ranch, I can help others as well.
When I am not volunteering at the ranch I am a full time graduate student at Portland State University and a Research assistant studying animal behavior, ecology and developmental biology.”
JOHN
"I was introduced to volunteer work here by my partner, Keria. I always had an interest in ranch work since I was a boy and this ranch has given me the opportunity to scratch that itch.
I find the work and its challenges to be very fulfilling and I’ve learned many new skills volunteering here. Outside of my volunteer work I’m currently studying at PCC for Fire Protection Technology. Aside from that I spend my free time at an MMA gym.”
