The 5th Annual Kane County Student Photography Contest Starts in October!
Back by popular demand, the ROE will be facilitating a 10-week student photography contest this Fall! This initiative recognizes and celebrates the talent found throughout the Art Departments in Kane County high schools. This includes the knowledge and support handed down by the instructors, as well as the creativity harnessed by students. At the end of the 10-week contest, there will be a reception night with all featured photos on display.

The friendly competition will feature 10 submitted photos being selected each week to be featured in  Kane County Connects , with the first week being October 1st . Does your school have a photography class or club that wants to participate? Contact  Mike Ademe at mademe@kaneroe.org  for more information on the submission schedule and guidelines.

Now that school is back in session, it's time for schools to enroll for the 2018-2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee! Schools can save on money by taking advantage of early bird pricing, which is available to schools that enroll by Monday, October 15th. The Early Bird rate is $160 per school, and rises to $235 once the early bird rate expires.

The Kane County semi finals will be on Feb. 19, 2019 at Herget Middle School in Aurora and Westfield Community School in Algonquin. The Kane County finals will be at the Kane County ROE on Mar. 14.
