Delaware State Chamber Members:

Chamber Update
Social media is central to our future advocacy plans and I ask you and your colleagues to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, and connect with us on LinkedIn. It is through these platforms that we will share information and views on policies that impact your business, so please do this now. The Governor, the Legislature and our federal delegation are all active users of social media, as are other interest groups and advocates. We need to show a united front within that space as well. We will be stronger if we are as large and diverse a group as possible, representing all three counties, different industries and businesses and nonprofits, both large and small. These communication channels are no less important than our friends in traditional mediums such as broadcast or print news. The future is now, and we need to be where conversations are taking place.
News You Can Use
Plenty of business and market news this week: Existing home sales numbers are scheduled to be released today and new home sales will be released on Wednesday. On Thursday, durable goods orders and core capital equipment orders will be made public. Consumer sentiment and 2 nd Quarter GDP will be announced on Friday.
The Delaware Department of Labor shared their June Monthly Labor Review several days ago. June marks the first time since February 2008 that Delaware’s unemployment rate has dropped below four percent, though close at 3.9 percent. It also marks the first time since February 2017 that Delaware’s rate is below the national rate, currently at four percent.
