Join the EAWCP for the spring SMART program for seizure self management!

Self-Management isn't something you have to do alone - join others to learn how social networks and friends can help you manage the challenges of your care and living with a chronic condition.

The EAWCP is proud to present the SMART Program, Seizure Management for People with Active Epilepsy

SMART is a free, online program for adults who live with epilepsy (18 years of age or older with active epilepsy). All sessions will be held in small groups via Zoom.

A Nurse and Peer Educator will work with each SMART group to facilitate the sessions online. Each online session will last approximately one hour.

The next SMART group will meet every Wednesday at 6:00PM for 8 weeks starting February 21, 2024 and running through April 10, 2024. We ask that those participating make an effort to make it to all 8 sessions.

You, a Nurse and a Peer Educator will walk through the SMART program guide together and focus on learning more about things like:

· Treatment Management -Keeping track of medication schedules, keeping medical appointments, and communicating with health care professionals.

· Seizure Management - Recognizing and avoiding seizure triggers, and keeping a record of your of seizures.

· Lifestyle Management - Taking care of yourself, getting enough sleep, reducing stress, and how social support networks can help.
