Cycle crime is endemic across the UK. With the cost of living increasing in parallel to increases in the value of the average bike, bike theft is an attractive proposition for criminals.
BikeRegister's mission is to help both deter theft and assist in the recovery and return of bikes to their rightful owners, which is one of the biggest challenges faced by all police forces.
BikeRegister is the national cycle database, used by all UK police with 1.25 million bikes registered. In 2022, the database helped recover over £540K worth of bikes.
