Presidents Message

Dear WINS Members,

What a fantastic luncheon we had in June! A huge thank you to Cork & Batter Roadhouse for hosting us—it was a wonderful experience!

We believe this may be a great new location for our future meetings, and we’d love your feedback. If you attended the luncheon, please take a moment to share your thoughts in the upcoming survey. Your input truly matters to us.

The venue felt fresh and different, and the food was absolutely delicious!

A special thank you to Heather Sumagaysay from the city for being our guest speaker. She shared some insightful tips, and we truly appreciated her knowledge and perspective regarding the City of Simi Valley Government.

We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone at next month’s meeting!

With gratitude and excitement,

Ana Asatouri

President, WINS

Meet our July Speaker Annika Sumby

Our July speaker will be Annika Sumby from the Samaritan Center of Simi Valley.   She has been the Executive Director of the Center since June 2022. Prior to that she was the paid program manager and volunteer coordinator. She also volunteered at the Center. Watching her grandmother reach out to members of the small German village she grew up in, instilled her desire to give back to others.

She will share the many ways the Center helps members of the community with meals, showers, clothing and other needs. Not everyone they help is homeless, but just need a helping hand and that is what the Samaritan Center is about.

She will also speak on ways WINS members can help support the Center. A Community Campaign will be introduced, whereby members can fulfill items on the Center’s wish list. Why not get started early by clicking on the link below!

Board Member Spotlight

Ana Asatouri

Starting our appliance repair business in 2012 was no easy task—especially while raising three young children. I managed the office, scheduling, and customer service, while Chris handled repairs in the field. Balancing long workdays with family life often meant late nights and early mornings. As we grew, we faced new challenges—learning industry standards and maintaining quality service. But our commitment never wavered. Through hard work and perseverance, we built a trusted reputation, became homeowners, and gained the ability to give back to our community. We’re proud to be living in Simi Valley, where we call home.
