Collaborate and Connect with School Administrators

The NJAGC Administrators’ Network is a new platform for school administrators to share gifted education ideas, successes and challenges with peers. All educators responsible for gifted education in a New Jersey school district are invited to attend these virtual sessions. Meetings will be held bi-monthly (every two months)

from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Empower Your Gifted Education Practices

Our first session focused on best practices when identifying gifted learners including the

requirements of NJ law, creating multiple pathways for referral including universal screening to cast a wider net, and evaluating the use of matrices or profiles as data analysis tools to ensure equity for historically underserved students in gifted programs.

Goal-setting and programming options were the focus of the January session, which began with a brief overview of programming requirements under the law. We then looked at gifted education

from an administrator’s perspective – as part of a district commitment to developing a continuum

of services to meet the needs of all learners, including advanced learners.
