The SSO invites you
to Sunday Brunch
Join us for Sunday Brunch February 17 as the SSO presents soprano Katherine Neeb singing the music of Robert Schumann, Henry Purcell, Reynaldo Hahn and Frank Bridge.
The SSO Sunday Brunch series is hosted by the Revival House restaurant, located at 70 Brunswick Street (at Waterloo St.) in downtown Stratford. It begins at 11:30 a.m.
General admission ($40) includes brunch and a $20 tax receipt. Purchase tickets here or at Blowes Stationery or Fanfare Books in Stratford.
Ms. Neeb holds a Master of Music from the University of Toronto. She is a voice instructor at Laurier University's Beckett School and Tyndale University in Toronto, and has her own studio as well.
She will be accompanied in Sunday's concert by pianist David Murray.
Schumann, a German, is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Romantic era, while Purcell is considered by many to be England's greatest composer of the Baroque era.
Hahn, who was born in Venezuela but moved to France at the age of three, was a child prodigy who was taught by Jules Massenet, who became his friend and protector.
The British composer Bridge wrote popular ballads heard in concert halls and drawing rooms. Benjamin Britten was his most celebrated pupil. See the entire program here.
