Join our parea for a timely presentation and discussion with seasoned journalist and NHS member  John Metaxas award-winning news reporter and anchor at WCBS Newsradio 880 and CBS 2 in New York.
John has covered stories that range from politics and the New York City transit strike to the Bernard Madoff fraud hearings, the landing of the U.S. Airways jetliner in the Hudson River and Donald Trump's casinos.  He has broadcast live from a Yankees ticker-tape parade and several New York City Marathons.
Before joining CBS, John anchored and reported on financial news at CNN and CNBC and covered a presidential campaign for ABC News. Over the course of his career he has interviewed such world figures as Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton and Bill Gates. At CNN John anchored Your Money, the network's weekly look at personal finance issues. His reports appeared internationally on all of CNN's networks, including on the program Moneyline.  He was CNN's Nasdaq correspondent, reporting hourly during that market's crash in 2000-01.
John has practiced law in New York. As Chief Corporate Communications and Government Affairs Officer for a Silicon Valley-based financial services/technology company he counseled the CEO on interaction with the news media and created messaging related to corporate strategy, investor relations, crisis management and regulatory issues. He has trained executives and business people in public speaking, crisis communications and on-camera presentation.
As Station Manager and Sports Director of WKCR-FM in New York, John anchored live coverage of the Democratic Convention from Madison Square Garden and broadcast live play-by-play of more than 100 intercollegiate sporting events.  He is a graduate of Columbia College (cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa), Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Columbia Law School and is admitted to the bar in New York.
