ACADEMY GRADUATION AND AWARDS NIGHT WITH THE FRA
Are you looking forward to the 2021 FRA Annual Conference? We have an exciting three days planned for attendees, exhibitors and special guests!

During the conference we will be hosting the 2021 FRA Academy Graduation and Awards night. This is a special celebration honoring our Academy graduates as well as announcing 2021 award winners.

We love hosting this evening and dinner to recongize the dedication of redevelopment professionals and their continued education as well as spotlight the state's top redevelopment efforts from the past year.

This night to shine will be held on October 28 (or the Thursday of the conference). We hope to see you there!

If you haven't done so, please make your conference arrangements as quickly as possible. Many people have already registered and made hotel reservations so seats and the hotel’s remaining inventory are limited.

In the meantime, please learn about our Redevelopment Academy and Awards Program. Both allow us to continue promoting redevelopment practice in Florida and help us show just how important your work is to communities throughout the state.
JOBS AROUND THE STATE
City of Pensacola CRA
Urban Design Specialist and CRA Program Manager

The Pensacola CRA is seeking to hire both an urban design specialist and a CRA program manager.

The urban design specialist is responsible for providing architectural and urban design recommendations to maximize consistency of new development.

The CRA program manager will perform a broad range of administrative support and is responsible for coordinating, promoting, implementing and managing CRA programs, projects and initiatives implemented pursuant to the City’s adopted community redevelopment plans.

POST PANDEMIC PROJECT PRIORITIZATION WEBINAR
An essential element of the local, state and regional planning processes is effective project prioritization.

REMI is hosting a “Post-Pandemic Project Prioritization: How Economic Modeling Assesses Socioeconomic Indicators (SEI) for Long-term Planning,” webinar on Tuesday, October 12, from 2 to 3 p.m. ET.

This presentation will demonstrate how economic modeling can forecast the varying long-term impacts of project prioritization on employment, output and economic growth on different socioeconomic groups.

HOUSING LOAN PROGRAM
The Fort Myers CRA recently announced a Revolving Housing Loan Program available in two key redevelopment areas.

“This is the final pillar of the Fort Myers CRA’s overall affordable housing strategy of services and we are excited to have it now available,” Executive Director, Fort Myers CRA, Michele Hylton-Terry said. “The revolving loan program is meant to incentivize the development of affordable housing options, something desperately needed in our district.”

The fund is to be used exclusively for supporting developers seeking to construct housing targeting individuals that make the Area Median Income (AMI) or less.
