Albuquerque Museum stays open late for an evening of music and art.

Listen to music from local South American group Baracutanga. Watch Santa Fe artist Gasali Adeyemo dye fabric with indigo in a traditional Yoruba tie-dye technique.
Baracutanga is a seven-piece band that blends South American ancestral traditions with a modern sensibility, whose exciting and distinct Latin flavor keeps crowds dancing. 
Featuring Kilko Paz from Bolivia (charango), Carlos Noboa from Ecuador (bass), Jackie Zamora from Peru (vocals), Nick Baker (drums/percussion), Casey Mraz (guitar/accordion), and Micah Hood (trombone/flutes).
  • Doors open at 5 p.m.

  • 6 p.m.–8 p.m.: Listen to music from local South American group Baracutanga.

  • 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Watch Santa Fe artist Gasali Adeyemo dye fabric with indigo in a traditional Yoruba tie-dye technique.

Museum exhibitions, including Indelible Blue: Indigo Across the Globe, open until 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free. COVID safety practices are encouraged. Masks are required indoors for all Museum staff and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
Born and raised in Nigeria, Gasali Adeyemo’s training in indigo dyeing began at the Nike Center for Arts and Culture in Lagos. Indigo is a way of life for Adeyemo who has dedicated his time to dyeing and teaching others about the magic of indigo.

Visit the exhibition Indelible Blue: Indigo Across the Globe. On view at Albuquerque Museum through April 24. Explore the history, techniques, and movement of indigo as it has been used and exchanged around the world for millennia.
