Pro Action is celebrating Community Action Month by hosting a Symposium on Resilience . Join us on May 29, 2019 from 9am-4pm (lunch provided) at the Corning Community College main campus Commons Building.

Through the Symposium on Resilience, participants will gain a deeper understanding of NEAR Science as well as strategies for resilience and self-healing communities. In addition, they will discuss ideas for applying this learning in their sphere of influence, and hear about approaches to the use of the ACE questionnaire in service settings.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion provided by Corning Community College.

Poverty Education
Separating the Myths and Facts
Myth: The poor don't want to improve their situation; Those who get on welfare, stay on welfare.

Fact: Of those who receive welfare assistance, more than half stop receiving benefits after a year, 70% within two years, and 85% within four years.
