Adult Summer Reading Club
June 1 - August 12

Read whatever you want all summer. Stop by whenever you're in the area to pick up some summary cards. For each card you return to us, you will be entered into a raffle for some great gifts from local businesses.

On August 12, we will meet at the Gazebo (across from Argyle Park) to chat about the books we read, enjoy some snacks, and select the raffle winners.

St. Francis Mobile Outreach Bus
Monday, June 7
10 AM - 2 PM
In an effort to improve the health of local communities, St. Francis Hospital will bring their state-of-the-art Outreach Mobile Bus to the Babylon Library to provide free health screenings to our patrons. The screenings include a brief cardiac history, blood pressure, and simple blood test for cholesterol and diabetes. Must be 18 years or older.
The Lower East Side
Thursday, June 10 @ 7 PM on Zoom
Join Marty Schneit on a trip to the Lower East Side and visit Schimmel's Knishes, Katz's Deli, Anshe Chesed, The Daily Forward, Eldridge Street Synagogue, and Rabbi Eisenberg, one the few remaining Torah scribes in the Lower East Side. Listen to stories and tidbits about some of the people who lived on the Lower East Side, like Irving Berlin, Eddie Cantor, and George Burns.

Birds chirping, the metamorphic wonder of butterflies - a nature encounter in your own yard. Learn about the mental health benefits of a Bay Friendly Yard and a healthy ecosystem, presented by Kristen Perret, PHD, on behalf of local environmental non-profit Save The Great South Bay. The webinar will include a 20-minute presentation with plenty of time for audience Q & A.

at 9:30 AM for our new walking club! We will walk
from the library around Argyle Lake
(approximately 1.5 miles.) Every time you attend, you name will be entered in a raffle to win an electronic pedometer. You must register for this program.
(Only Babylon cardholders will be entered in the raffle.)

Sign up for Babylon Library’s Young Adult Summer Reading Club beginning on Tuesday, June 1st. If you register by June 30, you will be entered to win a flamingo pool float. If you log 5 books (summary cards) by the end of July, you will be entered to win an ice cream maker! Receive raffle tickets for each book you read and enter to win more cool prizes at the end of the summer!
