ADOPT-A-STREAM

You don’t have to be a scientist to make big improvements in our environment! The water quality data collected by CRWC volunteers has been used to identify and resolve soil erosion problems and to help select and fund specific locations for brook trout and coldwater stream restoration projects.

Join us for our next water quality monitoring event, Adopt-A-Stream, on Oct. 4. No formal experience is required, although we do recommend attending a training session. Registration is required!

NEW WORKSHOPS AND PROGRAMS

Nourished by Nature: Bat Hike

October 1, 7 - 8:30 PM

Join us for our next installment of Nourished by Nature: Bat Hike on Wednesday, October 1 from 7 - 8:30 PM.

We'll meet at the Clinton River Watershed Council's offices (1115 W. Avon Road, Rochester Hills) in partnership with Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve!

This will be one of the last chances to see and hear bats before they hibernate for the winter.

Seed Collection Workshop

October 11, 10 AM - Noon

In this workshop, you'll learn about the benefits of native landscaping related to water quality, how to identify common native plant species, and proper seed collection practices.

No experience necessary. Training and equipment provided. This is an outdoor workshop--please wear closed toed shoes and long pants.

Nourished by Nature: Fungi Foray

October 25, 10 AM - 1 PM

Curious about what kind of mushrooms you might find on local trails? Join us for Nourished By Nature: Fungi Foray. Local fungi experts will teach you to identify the different types of mushrooms you might find!

You’ll also learn about unique plants that often go overlooked and gain knowledge about different biomes and habitat types.

Hosted in partnership with the Michigan Nature Association.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Weekly Clean

Wednesdays in October, 10 AM - Noon

Help prevent pollutants from entering our rivers and streams during the last month of Weekly Clean for 2025. Join us and other volunteers Wednesdays in October from 10 AM - noon at locations throughout the watershed.

By removing trash from our natural spaces, we ensure the cleanliness of our waterways and preserve the natural beauty of our surroundings.
