Now, here's what's making news for May 1, 2019:
Public Works requests additional funds for the 2018 Accelerated I-Bank Street Paving Project
Back in October 2018, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Sequel Contractors for the 2018 Accelerated I-Bank Street Paving Project, which consists of street rehabilitation for several segments of City streets. Due to significant rainfall over the past year alongside a construction delay, the project was completed in February 2019

You can read more about this item and others in our preview of the May 7 City Council meeting.
Congresswoman Judy Chu to hold office hours May 8
Congresswoman Judy Chu will be holding mobile office hours at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on May 8 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to get help with federal agencies like the Social Security Administration or the Department of Veteran Affairs. It's also a great chance just to say hello. For questions, please contact Cindy Lee at or via phone at 626.304.0110.

Here's an update on the City's sewage system
A few weeks ago, our team at Public Works presented an update on the City’s sewer system to the City Council. Back in March 2016, the City was issued a consent judgement and settlement agreement with the goal to eliminate sanitary sewer overflows and improve the maintenance and management of sewer systems. Since then, the City has complied with the consent judgment by implementing several improvements to the City's sewage infrastructure.

You can read more about the status of the City's sewage system in the update below.
