Everything's Peachy at Peach Day!
Several years ago, Edible Philly ran a feature article on Scholl Orchards' peaches, bestowing the family's precious fruit with the title of "The Perfect Peach."

Growing peaches in the Northeast is no small feat. And whether you patronize Scholl Orchards or Phillips Farm, there's one thing we can guarantee - a whole lotta love (and blood sweat and tears) went into growing those sweet, juicy peaches. From battling bugs and humidity, to meticulous pruning and protecting delicate blossoms from deadly spring frosts, to weathering summer storms; it's a sweet moment when farmers make it to the finish line and experience the gratification of picking the perfect peaches to bring to market.

We hope you enjoy one of summer's finest fruits this Saturday - whether you eat it with the juice dripping down your chin, baked in a pie, tossed is a salad, churned into ice cream or dazzling in Sangria. Any way you slice it, it'll be delicious. I think Anne Gerr of Pie+Tart said it best... "Peaches are versatile but ephemeral; like avocados, they are perfect for mere seconds…but what perfection!"

Tips for long lasting beauty
Sometimes people ask the farmers how the flowers stay looking fresh for so long. They work hard to bring you the best blooms each week. There's no tricks or secret ingredients! It's a combination of choosing long lasting varieties, harvesting at the right time, and keeping the cut blooms cool and in clean water. When you bring them home, you can help them last even longer by adding fresh water every couple of days. Clean water and a squeaky clean vase are the best ways to keep your blooms looking beautiful. If the water gets cloudy you can also trim the stems to give them a fresh start. And, you can always remove any blooms that are past their prime and continue enjoying the rest. Feel free to stop and chat with Jenn and Bryan if you ever have any other flower related questions!
Pasture Raised

It's peach week and what goes better with freshly sliced peaches than sheep milk yogurt! Simple and sweet, a cup of sheep yogurt topped with sliced peaches makes an elegant and healthy dessert. For a more sophisticated flavor use our ginger yogurt.
