Hi Neighbor,

While we are approaching the end of summer vacation, there are still many opportunities to have fun with your family and friends!

Join us on Friday, August 1st, for a special edition of Music in the Square as we celebrate Public Safety Night. A resource fair will take place during the band's performance, offering you an opportunity to enjoy live music from Classic Rewind while engaging with local public safety and community organizations. See below for the list of participating organizations.

Additionally, the San Jose Police and Fire Department will be engaging with our community on Tuesday, August 5th, for National Night Out (NNO). This evening is dedicated to strengthening bonds between neighborhoods and public safety departments. There will be several NNO sites across District 8, organized by our neighborhood associations. These will be held at Meadowfair Park, Welch Park, Creekside Cabana Club, and Life Valley Community Church. This list doesn't cover the many neighborhood block parties happening throughout the district.

I hope to see you out there connecting with neighbors and celebrating community!

It is my pleasure and privilege to serve as your City Councilmember,

Activating Our Neighborhoods

Building strong neighborhoods starts with you! Joining a neighborhood association not only builds community block by block, but it also brings critical information to the forefront as I draft policy and fight for dollars in the budget. As a councilmember, I rely on the eyes and ears of each resident, and your collective voices take shape in the form of neighborhood groups.

Here is a list of active neighborhood associations in District 8:

  • Welch Park - Between Ocala Ave., King Rd & Tully Rd.
  • Norwood - Between Tully Rd, Ruby Ave, Norwood Ave & S. White Rd
  • Meadowfair - Between East Capitol, Aborn Rd, S King Rd & Rigoletto Dr
  • Creekside - Between San Felipe Rd & Cadwallader Ave
  • Brahms/Edgeview - Between Rigoletto Dr, S King Rd, Tully Rd & Quimby Rd
  • Silver Oak Estates - Silver Oak St, Rachaella Lane & Carmella Ct.
  • Evergreen Leadership - Neighborhoods of Groesbeck, Hidden Glens, Pleasant Hills & Quimby
  • District 8 Community Roundtable - District-wide

This year's National Night Out is on Tuesday, August 5. Here is a list of the sites organized by our neighborhood associations:

  • Meadowfair & Brahms/Edgeview - Meadowfair Park (Corda Dr & Barberry Ln)
  • Welch Park - Welch Park (Clarice Dr & Huran Dr)
  • Creekside - Creekside Cabana Club (3840 Yerba Buena Ave)
  • Norwood - Life Valley Community Church (2827 Flint Ave)
