Join our Shacharit Minyanim!
Shacharit services are at 8:05 AM Monday through Friday and 9:30 AM on Saturday. If you want to daven in our world-famous sanctuary, inspired by our beautiful three-story stained-glass window, please join us!
RSVPs are required; visitors must show identification when registering.
Due to construction, there is no parking in front of our building on Clark Street, so please allow extra time to arrive. We also have discounted parking ($10 for 12 hours) at the Washington-Madison-Wells Garage at 172 W. Madison, just ask for a coupon when you arrive at shul.

We are not for ourselves alone
As downtown continues returning to normal we are seeing a surge in guests, and their visits underscore one of the primary reasons we exist.
On Thursday and Friday last week, we were joined by Ralph and Bea Rosenbaum, who were visiting from East Brunswick, NJ. They enjoyed their time with our community so much, that they also joined us at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center to hear Hazzan Jonathan Kohan commemorate Kristallnacht. On Tuesday, we were also joined by Baruch Fertel from Cleveland Heights, OH, who was in Chicago for a conference and needed a minyan. On Wednesday, we were joined by Jeff Shachat, who was here for a conference from Oakland, CA.

New Instructor: Annie Kaufman - Annie has been learning Yiddish for 20 years, and teaching for 5. She trained as a Yiddish teacher through the Yiddish Book Center, and as a Talmud teacher through Svara. As an enthusiastic member of a vibrant Yiddish speaking community, she is eager to include more people so they can make their own friendships, art, and relationships with Yiddish.
A new semester will begin shortly. Dates to be announced.

We will be discussing two articles this month. The first is from Foreign Policy, "What Happens to Gaza After the War? A set of grim scenarios emerge for the enclave’s Palestinian residents," by Amy MacKinnon. We will also be discussing an article from the New York Times, "Behind Hamas's Bloody Gambit to Create a 'Permanent' State of War," by Ben Hubbard and Maria Abi-Habib.

Join us as we put the spirit in spiritual with our Egalitarian Shabbat service featuring joy, energy and soul. The Egalitarian Minyan will be at 6 PM (hybrid on Zoom and live in person).
A Shabbat dinner and Comedy Chanukah party will follow.
Dinner will feature Bone-in Roasted Chicken, Mom’s Mouth-watering Latkes, Warm Soft Challah Rolls, Fresh Garden Salad and World’s Best Soufganiyot.

Rooted in teachings from the Torah and sages, Jewish free loans are a time-honored tradition in the U.S. and beyond. In fact, most U.S. cities play host to at least one Jewish or Hebrew Free Loan agency. Unlike JFLC, some Jewish loan societies cater only to the needs of the Jewish community and do not have income caps. JFLC serves low-to moderate-income people of all backgrounds who need access to capital.
JFLC borrowers’ financial status can be wide-ranging, and their potential financial needs can also run the gamut, including:
