ONE BOOK ONE PARISH

Outreach committee member Steven Williams has several favorite quotes from the book, including, “Sooner or later, we all discover that kindness is the only strength there is."

Many groups within the church are reading "Tattoos on the Heart" by Gregory Boyle. If you aren't already reading it, we would like to invite you to do so and join the Coffee Hour Conversation on April 11 led by our Outreach Committee after worship. A Zoom link will be shared so all can be a part of the conversation.
SHEPHERD CIRCLE OUTREACH

Our Shepherd Circles are focusing on brainstorming ways to GO during Lent. Here are just a few of the ideas: helping a school in the neighborhood of your circle by offering a food pantry or support for the school staff, baking cookies for front-line workers, offering to help technologically challenged parishioners sign up for a vaccine, offering rides to get their vaccines, or collecting food for Community First! Village. We would love hear how your circle is GOing this Lent.

All parishioners are encouraged to GO by signing up to be a volunteer with Drive a Senior ATX. Look for emails from your Shepherd Circles for ways to connect with Drive A Senior clients in your neighborhood

If you haven't joined a Shepherd Circle, then please contact Aimee Bostwick or fill out a request form here.
CHRISTMAS BENEVOLENCE AND GOING FOR LENT

As we share these stories from Christmas Benevolence during the next few weeks, we hope that they may provide us with some ideas for how we can GO during Lent and make us smile with their warmth.

Christmas Benevolence Story from Jamie Baker
The gift was given to a family where the father lost his job due to COVID-19 in March to help pay for essential living expenses.

How can you GO during Lent?

MEET SARAH SARAHAN

As a member of Good Shepherd for 18 years, I have served on a Search Committee, Capital Campaign Committee, Welcome Committee, Adult Education Committee and Outreach Committee, and volunteered in the new baby, preschool Christian Formation, Trinity Streets, Meals on Wheels and Mobile Loaves & Fishes ministries. Recently, I participated in our first Sacred Grounds Racial Reconciliation Circle.
I am married to Paul and have college-aged twins, Will and Kate. I am an attorney mediator and workplace investigator. In the community, I am active in organizations addressing homelessness, including being on the board of Art from the Streets.
I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the parish on the Vestry and to participate in the work to deepen our connection with God, each other, our community and our world as we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus while building the Beloved Community.

Meet the new Vestry members and warden here.
