Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We would like to formally invite you to a panel discussion on transportation in New York City, as a part of our countdown to Car Free NYC. This panel, hosted by UTRC (University Transportation Research Center) will feature luminaries and experts on the city's transportation networks, looking at the environmental and social impacts of how we get around our city. It will take place this coming, Wednesday, April 12th from 9:00am-11:30 am in the 11th floor Auditorium of the New York Institute of Technology, 16 West 61st, New York, NY 10023.

This academic forum will be keynoted by NYC Council Transportation Chair and Founder of Car Free Day, Ydanis Rodriguez. It will feature speakers from Columbia University, NYU, the City College of NY, the Regional Plan Association and New York City's Department of Transportation and more. Following a presentation by Cubic Transportation Systems on the impact of last year's Car Free Day, panelists will discuss how the City can continue make its transportation networks more energy efficient, while getting New Yorkers where they need to be safely and on-time.

This event is a part of the 2nd Annual Car Free Day initiative, to be held on Earth Day (April 22nd) from 10am- 4pm in areas throughout the city. As a city that produces a significant amount of carbon emissions from our transportation sector, it is important to discuss the ways we can each do our part in our everyday lives to help reduce our output. Please join us for this exciting and educational forum in support of our Car Free Day to discuss and promote a more environmentally friendly, sustainable New York City.

Please check out the flyer below and RSVP for this event here.

Sincerely,

Ydanis Rodriguez
Chair, Council Transportation Committee
