Program Objectives
 
After attending this educational activity, participants should be able to:
 
  • Review current state-of-the art endovascular treatment options of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and discuss the clinical and imaging considerations of such treatments.
  • Discuss the role of advanced neuroimaging techniques in acute stroke and paradigm in triaging patients for acute interventions.
  • Recommend reversal techniques for oral anticoagulants in the setting of an acute intracerebral hemorrhage.
  • Discuss the relevance of diagnostic testing after ischemic stroke, and treatment implications for stroke risk factors vs stroke etiology.
  • Evaluate medical, endovascular and surgical options for revascularization in acute ischemic stroke.
  • Summarize decision-making considerations when resuming antithrombotics after acute intracerebral hemorrhage.

This course is designed for all healthcare providers managing stroke patients, including those in the emergency department, cardiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, advanced care providers, nurses, nurse practitioners and allied health professionals.
