NEW IBERIA, La. --- The New Iberia Parks and Recreation Department (NIRD) is hosting their 26th annual Festival of Live Oaks on Sat., March 16, 2019, in New Iberia’s City Park.
The festival celebrates the benefits of New Iberia’s tree canopy, which protects life and property during hurricanes, shades our neighborhoods, provides us with clean air and water, conserves soil, and provides food and shelter for various animals.
The Festival of Live Oaks in New Iberia City Park will shine on a beautiful spring day with the sounds of live bands, including Donna Angelle and her Zydeco Posse, Louisiana Kids, and Straight Whiskey.
NIRD and New Iberia Jaycee’s BBQ-Cook-Off (in its 21st year) adds another dimension to this celebration with wonderful smells and delicious eats starting at 10:30 a.m.
Kid and family activities will include an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny, train rides, pony rides, face painting and fun jumps. Visit the numerous crafts and sweets booths that will be displayed along the walking track. Bring your family and enjoy the day!
