The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius - Light

Take advantage of this opportunity to slow down and feed your soul. The Spiritual Exercises, are designed to experience God in a personal way. Written by St. Ignatius Loyola after his conversion and adapted for Lent, Ginny Pippin and a team of trained spiritual directors will lead us through the life of Christ, methods of prayer, decision making and knowing God’s will. The Spiritual Exercises have been considered life changing for many and may also be for you. Consider St. Ignatius’ question, “To what is God calling you?"

Participants are encouraged to commit 20 minutes/day to private prayer. Attend seven, 75 minute, group sessions via Zoom. Each session builds upon the last and participants are asked to attend all sessions.

Seven Consecutive Thursdays,
February 25 - April 8, 7:30 p.m.

Ginny Pippin holds a certificate in Spiritual Direction, Ignatian Spirituality Institute at John Carroll University, an advanced certificate in pastoral ministry from Notre Dame College and a degree in theology. Professionally, she has been a business owner for over 20 years and coaches C-level executives and leaders.

Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple

In partnership with Old Stone Church of Cleveland, join Rev. Dr. Charles Yoost, director of religious life, for a Zoom Lenten study on Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple, based on the book by Adam Hamilton. Simon Peter is one of the most interesting characters in the New Testament. He left everything to follow his teacher and had a passion that changed the world. Yet he was also quick-tempered and full of doubts and fears. Peter was just an ordinary guy who heard and accepted an extraordinary call. Join Dr. Yoost Wednesday evenings to reflect and learn on the life of Simon Peter.

Six Consecutive Wednesdays,
February 24 - March 31, 7:30 p.m.

Study books in regular and large print editions are available through the Lakeside Chautauqua Programming Office for $10.

Registration deadline: February 19. To register and purchase your book for this series, click the link below or call Lakeside Chautauqua Programming Office at 419-798-4461, ext. 259. Be sure to specify that you are registering for the Simon Peter study.
Registration deadline for both programs is Friday, February 19, 2021.
