Caroline Murphy

Lauren Palumbo

Lovin' Spoonfuls
Joanne began volunteering at A Place To Turn, wanting to give back to her community. She has been the food pantry’s Site Coordinator, Assistant Director, and is now in her 12th year as Executive Director. She recognizes that while examining the causes of poverty is crucial, we must continue to feed those who are hungry in the meantime. Joanne just completed six years of service on the MetroWest NonProfit Network’s Board of Directors. She is a participating member of two local Hunger Networks and collaborates with many area food assistance programs.
Over the past four years, Caroline has helped to grow and refine the Foundation’s strategy to address food insecurity across the MetroWest region. In 2018, through the MetroWest Hunger Relief Fund, she helped direct more than $150,000 into the community to support hunger relief efforts. She is passionate about finding ways to better understand the root causes of food insecurity and how the entire food system can play a role in solving hunger in MetroWest.
Lauren serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a food rescue organization based in Boston. For the past 6 years, Lauren has worked to grow the network of partners served by Lovin’ Spoonfuls and expand the reach of the organization throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Lauren seeks to bring this food rescue model to every community in Massachusetts, and to continue to lead conversations on the importance of reducing food waste and ensuring access to healthy food for all people.
