Dear Friends,

Happy Holidays! It has been great to see some of our Friends and volunteers back out at the seashore doing beach cleanups, shore bird surveys or just enjoying a socially distanced walk on the beach. While this year has been challenging in ways none of us could imagine, it will be a year that will not be forgotten. We have all witnessed a historic event and just like other historic events the effects will be long lasting and not forgotten. Take this time to be with your family and friends, virtually or safely distanced, with a mask or through the glass and remember that we are all in this together and we will emerge together.

Join us for our annual Holiday Open House, Eldora Holiday Open House on Dec. 13th, from 1pm to 4pm. The Friends of Canaveral have come up with some very clever ways for us to be together apart, so bring a chair and share a smile and wave and enjoy the seashore with staff and Friends of Canaveral.
See you at the beach!

Artist Talk at 6PM
ACA Soundscape Field Station at Canaveral National Seashore presents an exhibition by 2020 artist in residence, Dr. Nathan Wolek. "My interests are now focused on locations where people intentionally go to be in closer contact with nature like our state and national parks. These places have such interesting overlaps between human, wildlife, and Earth generated sounds. I tend to exhaustively explore certain locations by recording them over and over, then edit that material into a sound collage that represents that location," says Dr. Wolek.
The exhibition at ACA Harris House features Dr. Wolek's sound mapping visual experience alongside his field recording audio from Canaveral National Seashore.

ACA Soundscape Field Station is supported in 2020 by Friends of Canaveral and the City of New Smyrna Beach.
