Crocus First of all, can you believe it's already April? And wasn't the warm, sunny weather just what you needed to get revved up for spring? Not that the rain is finished with us yet, I'm sure, but wowser, what a weekend we had!
Anyway, sunny weather aside, we have some fun things coming up that you are not going to want to miss! And there are some bargains to be had and new additions to the shop along the way, too.
Read on and happy spring!

Cooperative Press
Come meet Shannon Okey, aka Knitgrrl, author, publisher, editor, and owner of Cooperative Press. She'll have books on hand for you to peruse and we'll be happy to take your orders. And of course if you want a digital copy, we can help you with that immediately.

Cooperative Press is a company whose values are very much in line with ours. Big publishers don't always want to print a book. If they don't think it will sell a gazillion copies, they pass on the project. But that doesn't mean the book isn't any good! Shannon has set up Cooperative Press to help authors get published, get distribution to the right channels, and get a bigger share of the profits than they might otherwise receive. It's all about supporting the independent spirit of the crafting world.
Hat Couture

It's because of Cooperative Press that we are able to discover fresh new designs, such as those in Hat Couture by Theressa Silver

Hat Couture1
Now you've probably knit a hat or two before. Why another hat book? What could be different about it? Well, my friend, a lot can be different! These hats are anything but ordinary. And guess what? You'll get a chance to see some of them in person and talk to Theressa because she'll be joining us that evening as well!

But wait! There's more!
Doomsday Knits concept

Fresh from her Oregon Coast photo shoot for her upcoming book, Alex Tinsley will be here with a trunk show of samples. Doomsday Knits is a collection of garments and accessories inspired by the post-apocalyptic genre of film, literature, and fashion.

Take a look at the video from Alex's Kickstarter campaign to get a preview of the fashions in the book. Some very intriguing and unique things happening here! And this is your opportunity to get a look way before just about anyone else!

So join us the evening of
Tuesday, April 9th,
7-9 p.m.
for an evening with
Shannon Okey,
Theressa Silver,
and Alex Tinsley

We'll be serving light refreshments
and parking is FREE after 7 p.m.

Our regular spinning group will be here, too,
so if you'd like to join them, bring your wheel or spindle.

Because at Pearl Fiber Arts,
spinning a yarn is a lot more
than just telling a tale!

Ewe Ewe Yarns
Wooly Worsted
Wooly Worsted
We are delighted to be Portland's source for this lovely, superwash Merino yarn. Bouncy and bright, it knits up quickly into lovely, machine-washable projects. We have lots of cute patterns to go with it, too!
95 yards per skein
$9 each
Wool-Free Wall

Wool-free Wall
We love wool, but know that some of you can't use it due to allergies. And in the summertime, lighter fibers such as cotton and linen are a must-have. So we'e created a wool-free wall to provide you easy access to what you want. There's something in every weight, from fingering through bulky. Come check it out!
Touch the West Mountain Meadow Wool
Mountain Meadows Wool
We like knowing where things come from and we love it when products are sourced in the USA. Mountain Meadow Wool is all that and more. This family-owned mill produces 100% domestic, 100% traceable, and 100% natural wool. Each skein has a QR code that takes you to a web page where you can see video of  the ranch where the sheep are raised. And the best way to describe how this wool knits up is to say that it feels alive. Bouncy, soft, yet durable. It's a wool-lover's delight and in Portland you'll find it only at Pearl Fiber Arts!
On sale now!
We've made a further price reduction on the remaining stock of
Summit Hill superwash worsted wool from Kraemer Yarns.
Originally priced at $14.95 per 230-yard skein,
it's now just $10 per skein, while supplies last!

We've really like this yarn, but it's been discontinued.
Makes great, machine washable blankets, baby items and more!
There's still a good selection of colors -- shop early for best selection.
All sales final. Applies only to stock on hand.
There's more coming! Can you hear the distant sound of a train? That would be the
Seattle to Portland Yarn Train! Stay tuned for all the happenings the weekend of
April 13-14 when the train hits town and  the fun begins again!

For now, hope to see you on April 9th.

All the best,
Cindy Abernethy
