Local Farming Village Countryside Tour & Monk Blessing

Embark on a full-day tour to a local village located 10 kilometers away from Siem Reap. After receiving a warm welcome from the farming families, guests will have a chance to participate in their daily activities such as planting and harvesting vegetable crops. Take an authentic form of transportation by riding a cart pulled by an ox, as you take in the gentle hypnotic pace along narrow village roads. Then pass by a local family's home and enjoy a homemade lunch, which is sure to be vastly different from the dishes served in more western-oriented restaurants.

The tour concludes with a visit to a local monastery and meeting resident monks. Guests are invited to a private blessing ceremony for good health and a safe journey. Monks will chant blessings and sprinkle holy water during a ceremony, which is the traditional way of passing on good luck from the gods. Guests will then receive a sacred thread tied around their wrists, believed to provide protection from evil spirits or accidents.

Filled with vast green landscapes and intimate exchanges with locals, this excursion is sure to be a highlight of Cambodia for all travelers.

Explore Nature and History: Jungle Trekking in Phnom Kulen National Park

Phnom Kulen holds immense importance for the people of Cambodia. It was here where Jayavarman II established the royal "God of the King" linga cult in 802 AD, uniting Cambodia under a single ruler and paving the way for an independent kingdom. The Kulen National Park not only boasts a vast natural landscape, but also hosts incredible national wonders seeped in local tradition and religion.

We have created two tours that give guests a unique perspective of Cambodian heritage, creating an intimate experience of the country's nature and culture.

Our half-day adventure starts from Siem Reap and begins at the base of the majestic Sacred Mountain, where guests embark on an invigorating jungle hike leading to a stunning waterfall. The path covers approximately 6 kilometers and lasts around 3 and a half hours. Explorers will get a chance to visit local temples along the way, including the 16th-century Wat Preah Ang Chub which features a remarkable standing Buddha. There are several small villages along the way where we can take a peek into our locals' daily lives, and get to know and interact with them. Guests are then led to the captivating waterfalls, careful to stop and spot hundreds of linga stands lining the Siem Reap River along the way. Prepare to be amazed by the lush surroundings and an active pagoda, creating a truly mesmerizing atmosphere.

Those who would like a more immersive experience may opt to take a full-day excursion to see even more national wonders throughout the park.

This trek covers approximately 18 kilometers which takes around 6 hours to complete. Guests can visit fascinating sites, starting from the Poeng Tbal, a series of massive rock monoliths that feature ancient rock carvings believed to have been a created in the 11th century. This route also includes the iconic Sras Damrei, known for its stunning elephant statue by a serene pond, believed to be dated around the 8th to 9th century. Lunch will be served at the Preah Krai Pagoda, situated atop the southern edge of the park and offering incredible views.

Explorers will also get to visit the Grand Reclining Buddha, Preah Ang Thom, a jaw-dropping 8-meter-long statue intricately carved into a sandstone block in the 16th century. This journey ends with a walk by the river to see thousands of Linga carvings, before taking a cooling dip in a majestic waterfall.
