Join Us for an Evening of Inspiration

Sunday, February 23, 7 PM MST

I occasionally get asked to give a presentation, devotional, or fireside on the lessons I've learned through service in the developing world. Next Sunday, the Family Humanitarian community is invited to join me as I share just a few of the stories of people who have touched my heart. I will share stories of faith, hope, and charity. The presentation should be enjoyable for those of all Christian faiths, those who have been on expeditions, those who are considering going, and those who don't intend to ever travel to the developing world. It will focus specifically on just a few of my interactions and lessons learned in Uganda, Kenya, and Ghana. I hope to also take questions and comments throughout the presentation.

Mark your calendar to join us on Zoom on Sunday, February 23 at 7 PM MST for an evening of inspiration: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83699542992?pwd=5NChFRBpCNsS3IyNsVElfdpVox5QVJ.1

"God Has Blessed Us"

In 2024, when visiting a new borehole, Michael, a village leader pictured above, gave the following speech to the Family Humanitarian representatives. Luckily we recorded his touching words. This thank you is intended for every donor who helps to make clean water possible:

“May I start by saying, God is a good God. God is great! We are glad to have you here as our visitors, to have you here to celebrate our water. You have seen the kind of water that we had. That is what we used with our animals and our children in school. I think this is the time that we are going to say God has blessed us. This area does not receive rain. Any rain that falls and gets into this pond. This is what we hope will get us through the year. Now that we have this borehole, we have been drawing water from 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening day after day and the pond does not go down. That’s why when you are here, we think that we are even seeing God because God has brought you to make us this happy. God has been a friend indeed because he has been to this place even during that time when after the drought when there were heavy rains. When the drills came, and we saw water we really saw God because this is an area where people suffer. Our women suffer and the animals never have enough because the women have to go for water and bring it here. May God bless Family Humanitarian for bringing us water. You are really humanitarians. Thank you. May God bless you and see you prosper.

“This area was prone to water-borne disease. This pond was what we used for cooking and what we used for drinking and for the animals. When the pond would go dry, the women and children would go to the river about 7 kilometers from here. Our old women would have to wake up at three in the morning. By the time they would make one or two trips, then it is about nighttime. We cannot clean ourselves. The sheep and goats cannot get enough water. You can just imagine that kind of life. Now, with the coming of Family Humanitarian, we are happy to be having this borehole. We have clean and safe water. Our children are clean because they now have water. Their bodies are clean, and their clothing is clean. The number of people attending the hospital now has drastically dropped. We are very thankful for the assistance of Family Humanitarian. Thank you!
