Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I invite you to join me for our annual Priests’ Retreat at Christ the King Center, November 5-6, 2020. This year’s retreat leader will be our retired Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dan Herzog. He will be giving three meditations entitled “Christ Jesus, the Inside Man”. Bishop Dan is a gifted preacher and teacher and I know he will be a blessing to each of us.

Our goal will be to maximize the spiritual benefit afforded us over the space of 25+ hours. Christ Jesus our Great High Priest will minister to us in his Holy Spirit, through his Word, in the Sacraments, through Adoration and Contemplation, in fellowship and in silence. Our purpose to let Jesus refresh us directly in our hearts. We underestimate what the Lord can do in our lives, in our minds, in our hearts, in our wounds and in our will. A retreat, even a brief one, can open all these dimensions and receive Him afresh in all his redeeming and deifying power.

The image of the Ascension provides the greater theme, with Mercy and Transformation in its fulfillment.
  • This is the victorious and exalted Lord who has not left us orphans.
  • This is the One who was dead and is now alive for evermore.
  • This is the One who desires for us more than we can ask or imagine.

I pray that you will be able to join me and our fellow priests for this special and holy time of rest, spiritual nourishment, worship, prayer and fellowship. Our time together will start with the Holy Eucharist at 11am on Thursday, November 5th and conclude with lunch on Friday, November 6th. A schedule is attached below.

While I hope that many priests can attend the retreat, please know that due to social distancing restrictions we can only have a total of 64 priests attend. This is broken down between 33 overnight guests and 31 commuters. You may register by using the link below. I took forward to seeing you there.

Faithfully, your brother in Christ,
