On Thursday, December 21, ring in the winter solstice with the Lincoln Square BID at the second annual WinteRamble - an illuminated community procession of Frost Giant puppets and icicle lanterns led by Processional Arts Workshop. The procession will start at 5:00pm in front of 1886 Broadway (between 62nd St and 63rd St), then meander through the Lincoln Square neighborhood to the ethereal sounds of J.C. King’s Kalimbascope, a rolling ensemble of acoustically-enhanced thumb pianos, until 6:00pm. You can join the procession from anywhere along the route, which will be mostly on the sidewalks of Broadway.
To make your own mini-lantern, join a workshop between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. Volunteers can carry their mini-lanterns during the procession, join the Kalimbascope (an interactive processional sound installation of acoustically enhanced thumb pianos), carry icicle lanterns, or simply walk along with the group. Everyone is welcome to take part in this family-friendly event by watching or following along as we celebrate winter’s arrival together. Please RSVP to participate or attend by filling out this form.

COVID-19 Vaccines & Tests | |
The COVID-19 vaccines reduce the severity of symptoms if you get sick from COVID-19 and reduce the risk of developing long COVID. While anyone can become very sick from COVID-19, vaccination is especially important for people who are age 65 and older, are pregnant, or have certain health conditions and disabilities. The updated COVID-19 vaccines for the 2023-2024 season are designed to protect against newer variants and to increase people’s protection against the virus. Visit the NYC Vaccine Finder to find a vaccine and schedule your appointment.
As of November 20, every household is also eligible for an additional four free at-home tests. If you did not order tests this fall, you may place two orders. Place your order(s) for the tests here.
