A prayer practice at the end of your day – reviewing your day with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit – could be a helpful addition for you during this time of change. For me this practice changes how I experience the events of my day. Spiritual practices like the one I describe here shape how we understand ourselves and how we understand God. This Sunday we have the opportunity to practice giving thanks as we celebrate Sam Hensley and his ministry at our Woodland campus. We hope you’ll join us after the service at Woodland to thank Sam for his love, creativity, and energy for ministry. Check out the details below.

I look forward to worshipping with you online and in person this Sunday.
BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS
9:30 AM OUTDOOR SERVICE ON THE COMMON AT WINDSOR & DURING OUR 10:30 AM SERVICES

On Sunday, August 15, we invite our families with school-aged children to gather outdoors on The Common in the cool of the morning at 9:30 a.m. for a special outdoor worship service to bless backpacks as we prepare for the beginning of school. Dress comfortably and don't forget your backpack!

We will also bless students and those who teach and learn during our 10:30 am services on August 15, including our online service.

Immediately following the 9:30 service and 10:30 services we need your help to fill 200 backpacks for our neighbors in Austin. Sign up here to contribute school supplies to the cause! Feel free to Amazon your donation to the church address to the attention of Jessica Riels. We will distribute these backpacks filled with school supplies to those in need in our community.
FAREWELL TO SAM HENSLEY
WOODLAND CAMPUS

Celebrate Sam's six years of ministry as the Woodland campus' Director of Music & Mission! Please join us at Woodland after our 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sunday, August 8th, as we send Sam off to his next chapter. We are so grateful for the ministry that we have shared with Sam!

Immediately following the service a luncheon of Sam's favorite foods will be served outside on the Woodland campus.

PANDEMIC PROCEDURES

Masks are welcome at all parish services and events, and we strongly encourage wearing masks when indoors. Masks are required for those who are not fully vaccinated and for those who are participating in our Sunday liturgies (clergy, choir members, other liturgical participants). Our goal is to create a climate where people feel comfortable and safe worshipping and to keep from contributing to the spread of Covid-19.

We ask your prayers for all of those in our community affected by the ongoing pandemic and for those who are caring for them.
SUMMER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Got the summertime blues? We've got a cure! Sign up for one of our many outreach opportunities this summer. We hope that all members of the parish will participate in these transformative experiences. We welcome -- and need -- your help!

Farmers Market: One more volunteer is needed for this Saturday, August 7th for the 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. shift. You can sign up here. Come help us prepare for the market and get first dibs at the goodies from our vendors! Our market is a ministry of hospitality to the neighborhood. Your help is appreciated and needed each Saturday through September 25th!

Mobile Loaves and Fishes Make Ready and Truck Run: We need several more volunteers for our truck run on Wednesday, August 18th. Sharing this experience as a family or with friends is a wonderful way to be a part of helping those in need. Invite a friend to join you! Please sign up here.

Community First Village: Save the date for our next make-ready on Friday, September 3rd. This is a wonderful service hour opportunity for our youth. Sign up here to clean, assemble furniture, and stock the pantry for a new neighbor at the village! Volunteers receive a tour of the village before their work. Contact Aimee Bostwick with questions.

Trinity Streets: Our next opportunity to serve our homeless neighbors at Trinity Streets will be Sunday, September 8th. All slots are full for this offering! The next available date is Sunday, December 5th. You may volunteer here. If you have questions please contact Sarah Sarahan

After your experience please reach out to Aimee Bostwick to share your story of service.
