Boston Harbor Fireworks: June 30

WHEN: Saturday, June 30, 7pm to 10pm (fireworks start at nightfall).

WHO'S INVITED: Anyone who wants to reserve a spot and join us on  Nantucket/LV-112's weather deck, with friends and family, to watch a spectacular fireworks display in Boston's inner harbor.  Nantucket Lightship/LV-112's berth has one of the best views of Boston's vibrant city skyline from the East Boston waterfront.

WHAT TO BRING:  Picnic supper, your favorite beverages, beach/lawn chairs to sit on the decks of 
Nantucket/LV-112 , which will remain at the dock. We'll supply the ship, panoramic views and lively music, and the ship's powerful rotating light beacon will be activated just before the fireworks begin.

WHY: This is a fundraising event for  LV-112 , for which we still have much restoration work to do; visit our Facebook page . The ship's future solely depends on the generous contributions of corporations, private foundations, maritime enthusiasts and individuals such as you.

RESERVATIONS: We request a $25 donation per person. Tickets can be purchased by clicking on  EventBrite.

WHERE:  LV-112 is berthed at the Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina, 256 Marginal St., East Boston, MA; directions . There's free parking at the marina, but it's limited due to holiday weekend volume.

Best option is public transportation. MBTA Subway: take Blue Line to Maverick Station, walk to shipyard/marina (approx. 15 walk),  view walking route. Water Taxi to Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina, stop #68 view map.

Watch USS Constitution turnaround voyage from
Nantucket Lightship/LV-112

WHAT
July 4 turnaround voyage of "Old Ironsides"
After three years of restoration, t he USS Constitution is out of dry-dock! Kicking off Boston's Independence Day celebration, the USS Constitution will participate again in this historic July 4 tradition. Join us on board the Nantucket Lightship/LV-112 to celebrate. Named by President George Washington after the Constitution of the United States of America, she is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel afloat. Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, which is berthed in Boston Harbor, has one of the best waterfront views of this famous annual event. Space is limited to the first 60 people who reserve with a $35 donation (see details below).  T his also is a chance to tour Nantucket/LV-112, the largest U.S. lightship ever built.

WHEN:  Wednesday, July 4, 10am to 2pm.  
 
WHO'S INVITED: Everyone who wants to see these two National Historic Landmark vessels on the same historic day.

The United States Lightship Museum 

The U.S. Lightship Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and preservation of Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, a National Historic Landmark and a National Treasure. LV-112 is a museum and floating learning center, open to the general public -- a place for people of all ages to learn about our nation's seafaring history and the technologies that advanced the nautical and marine sciences.
