Endangered Species Faire!
Saturday, May 4th, 2019 10am - 4pm
Cedar Grove and the Chico Creek Nature Center
ESF

The Endangered Species Faire is one of the oldest and largest events in California dedicated to endangered species awareness. Every year BEC brings together students, community members, musicians, and organizations to learn about our environment.

Our theme for 2019, "Ecosystem Earth" celebrates the interconnectedness of all life on earth while also emphasizing the global scale of our current climate crisis.

The Faire is bigger than ever! Back at Cedar Grove, and the Chico Creek Nature Center with a second performance area! Join us for live music, stories, educational booths, a live animal show, and hundreds of local elementary students parading puppets of endangered species during the Procession of the Species!

Join us to celebrate four decades of the Endangered Species Faire!

We need YOUR help to make this possible
FOF

THIS Saturday May 4th, we will celebrate the Faire's 40th Anniversary in Cedar Grove, with two performance areas and FREE admission to the Chico Creek Nature Center. This is a FREE public event for all ages, with environmental education offered alongside live music, eco-entertainment, and a rescued animal show!

This year's theme "Ecosystem Earth" highlights the
interconnectedness of all life on Earth, and the global scale of our Climate Crisis.  Through action and awareness
of the earth's most sensitive environmental issues, we aim to protect and defend our endangered species, wildlife and land for future generations. We need YOUR help to make this possible.

We know that the Faire's hands-on learning experiences create cherished childhood memories. Your support can help bring these lasting memories to another generation of local youth.

The Endangered Species Faire

The Procession of the Species is underway. The Procession takes place on the day of the faire involving approximately 400 children from local schools who have made papier-mâché puppets of endangered species.

The children learn about what threatens these animals' habitats and about environmental conservation efforts. Over a six week period, we work with students to help them create their puppets for the final event.

Let's Clean Little Chico Creek!

Over the years, the waterways have been contaminated with garbage and invasive plant species, which is not only a problem for the Chico residents but also wildlife and water quality.

Join BEC and your local community in an effort to clean up Chico's creeks at our next Block Party with a Purpose

"The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment."
