Help celebrate the Happy Tails and raise funds for our animal friends!
Hello Team C.A.R.E.4Paws!

We invite you to our Happy Tails Celebration & Fundraiser on Sunday, June 13, 5pm to 6pm. Our FREE, virtual gala toasts to and raises funds for C.A.R.E.4Paws' work to keep animals healthy and in their homes, especially during the pandemic.

Enjoy heartfelt stories, or Happy Tails, from the pet owners we help along with virtual tours of our community programs—all of it possible thanks to YOU: our generous donors, grantors and volunteers!

As the event is C.A.R.E.4Paws' most important annual fundraiser, we hope you’ll consider joining us as a Happy Tails Patron to support our critical work through 2021 and beyond. We will also host a live auction with many exciting packages to bid on. Stay tuned for a listing of items.

Mobile community medicine for those who need it the most
A majority of pet owners can’t imagine going through these tough times without their four-legged friends. But when money is tight or nonexistent, the stress of not being able to care for a pet can be overwhelming. Our free and low-cost mobile clinic services, including spays/neuters, veterinary care and vaccine clinics, prevent suffering and ensure animals can stay in their homes. This year we will host at least 210 clinic days and we are on track to assist 2,200 pets with spay/neuter surgeries and at least 2,000 dogs and cats with medical care. Together, we're making a significant impact in the community!
Helping hands prevent hunger
Poverty severely impacts both people and pets. To make sure no animal goes hungry, our Companion Pet Assistance program continues to distribute several tons of pet food weekly in the mobile clinic, during special events, at our Pet Resource Centers and through delivery to homebound seniors. Since the start of COVID-19, we've distributed 400,000 pounds of food, compared to 4,000 pounds during a typical year prior to the pandemic! We continue to provide support for community members at Alameda Park on Thursdays, including grooming with A's Mobile Grooming once a month.
“I’m very grateful to C.A.R.E.4Paws for the help my dog Zoe and I have received with pet food and grooming at Alameda Park for about seven months now. It’s a wonderful program and I’ve been treated beyond friendly.” ~Warren
A countywide Pet Food Donation Drive-Thru
We hosted our very first Pet Food Donation Drive-Thru on April 24 and 25, when supporters dropped off pet food and monetary gifts at five main locations countywide as well as at several of our year-round drop-off locations. Thanks to so many generous community members, we raised tons of pet food and critical funds to help support pet owners struggling during the pandemic. We are beyond grateful to all of our contributors, volunteers and location hosts for making this event such a huge success. Click for more photos and details.
Lots of pawsitive news!
Our Pet Food Donation Drive-Thru generated great press coverage. Click on the image to view John Palminteri's KEYT story, which talks about the donation drive and the huge need in our community. The Independent recently did a story about our work during the pandemic and we also received a wonderful piece in Best Friends Magazine as well as stories in Santa Barbara and Montecito Neighbors magazines. Bogie feels much better
Donna Haskell is a senior surviving solely on social security. Recently, her beloved senior Shih-Tzu mix, Bogie, desperately needed a dental and help with extreme itchiness. Donna’s vet quoted her several thousand dollars to treat him, but she could not afford the cost and says she was heartsick over Bogie's misery. Then she heard about C.A.R.E.4Paws’ mobile clinic.

“I was touched by the kindness I received from the staff. I felt they took extra care to not make me feel badly about my financial problems and I left with my dignity.” Now Bogie is a changed dog, she says. “The treatment took care of all of his problems. I truly am at peace knowing Bogie is feeling so much better. Thank you for your much needed service to our community.”
Kitty kudos!
"My dear cat, Simba, needed vaccines and to be microchipped. I had just started a job after being jobless for 14 months. I was able to get my cat’s needs met for very little pay. I am thankful for that! ~Tania
One healthy, happy pup
Recently, Barbara Bloxham’s 15-year-old dog, Vegas, had a much-needed dental in our mobile clinic, funded in part by Grey Muzzle Organization, one of our grantors. “It was no surprise I brought her home with no teeth," says Barbara. They were in terrible condition. My fear that I might lose her has been replaced with the joy of seeing her so happy, acting like a puppy again. Thank you for taking care of her.”
Youth making an impact
From beautiful pet portraits created by the kids at Lompoc's United Boys & Girls Club and Santa Barbara high schoolers volunteering during our donation drive to a foodraiser organized by fourth-graders at Cold Springs School in Montecito, we are so proud to work with amazing youth across Santa Barbara County!
