Memorial Day: Remember and Honor

“Americans may not only pay tribute to our honored dead but also unite in prayer for success in our search for a just and lasting peace.” John F. Kennedy, “Prayer for Peace,” Memorial Day 1962

Dear NAHCC members and friends,

Memorial Day* is the time to reconnect with the history of our nation by honoring those who gave their lives for the freedoms and ideals we all care for and enjoy.

Close to 1.4 million American service members, men and women of valor, have died in military service since the Civil War began in 1861.

Representing all ethnic backgrounds, each person who died at war was a loved one to us, including Americans of Hispanic heritage who have fought in all of America's major military operations.

Today, we encourage you to stop what you are doing at 3 pm* to remember with gratitude all those who offered the ultimate sacrifice**.

On behalf of the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Board of Directors,
