< Joint Surgery Center's Hip & Knee Replacement Achievements

Atlantic General Hospital’s Joint Surgery Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Total Hip, Knee, and Shoulder Replacement Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. The voluntary certification focuses on the entire continuum of care.


The safe, error-free care that the joint replacement team provides is evidenced by continually exceeding the benchmarks for same-day discharge and overall length of stay for our total hip and knee joint replacement patients. Providing quality and efficient care allows patients to recover in the comfort of their own homes. 

The total length of stay for our total hip and knee joint replacement patients is consistently lower than the benchmark:

An average of 83% of our total hip and knee replacement patients here at AGH are going home the same day of surgery. This is compared to the 24% benchmark:
