With 2020 drawing near, local jurisdictions continue to look for ways of reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions in compliance with AB 32, California's Global Warming Solutions Act. Despite the emergence of more fuel efficient vehicles, alternative fuels are likely to hold the key to significant reductions in emissions stemming from vehicular transportation. Join SCAG and the Clean Cities Coalition as we explore news and research regarding electric fuel technologies emerging throughout the region.

This workshop seeks to engage local and regional agencies, fleet managers, as well as private developers to identify ways in which they can facilitate the adoption of Electric Vehicles throughout the region. The session stands to cover the following:
  • Overview of emerging technologies
  • Need for infrastructure readiness throughout the region
  • Potential funding opportunities for jurisdictions
  • Private sector role in new technology roll-out
  • Benefits of early adoption
  • Solutions to planning and policy challenges
