Each month, the Joliet Catholic Academy Parent Pride Newsletter is e-mailed out to parents and JCA students, previewing important upcoming events in the JCA community.

Is there an important event or headline coming up in June that we missed? Contact us below so that we can post through social media, the JCA website, or an e-mail blast. We only post information in the Parent Pride Newsletter that is sent in before the submission deadline (the 20th of each month).

Congratulations to our individual State Champions in wrestling: Shay Korhorn, Gylon Sims, and Dillan Johnson. Junior Owen O'Connor also captured a third place finish and the Hilltoppers captured an IWCOA Class 2A Team Third Place finish overall.

Also, congratulations to the JCA Angels girls softball and girls soccer programs. Both teams captured IHSA Class 2A state runner-up trophies in June.

2021-2022 School Calendar

The online events calendar on JCA's website has been updated. Events in the calendar are able to be sorted by Month, List, and Day. You are also able to Export Events using the + Export Events button below the calendar. Events will export to your smartphone or Outlook. We have also provided a one page PDF events calendar.

Please note, the official school calendar is subject to change at the discretion of the school.
Summer Assignments

All JCA students are required to participate in the JCA Summer Reading program and several other teachers also assign summer assignments to be completed by the first day of school. Laptop Ordering Information

In an effort to make high quality devices possible for every student, families have the options to purchase one of the devices that have been chosen as strong options, through a convenient online portal provided by JCA. If it is preferred, students can bring their own chosen device that meets the specifications set forth by the school. Specific information about the devices and portal has also been sent via mail.

Class Schedules

Class schedules have been e-mailed to students. Incoming freshmen and transfer students will also receive a printout of their schedule through the mail. Schedule change requests must be made in writing. Forms are available in the main office. More than one change request can be made on the same form. There is a $75 fee per change requested. No schedule change is official until the student receives written notification. If a change cannot be made, the fee will be returned.

Back-to-School Night for Parents

Did you ever wonder what your teen goes through each day as a high school student? Want to meet your student’s teachers and find out about course requirements and expectations? Attend JCA’s Back-to-School Night and you’ll find all of your answers! You’ll walk through your student’s daily schedule, chat with teachers and fellow parents, and enjoy refreshments. Your student’s schedule will be emailed to you prior to the event. The evening will begin in the Student Activity Center. Questions regarding Back-to-School Night should be directed to the Vice Principal’s Office at 815.741.0500.

JCA Freshman Mixer

JCA Admissions will also host a Freshman Mixer for the Class of 2025 on Thursday, July 22 from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in Heritage Quad. Incoming freshman are invited to attend a great night with music (Live DJ), refreshments, games, and more.

–      Get started on your Freshman Summer Reading Assignment
  • Turn into English teacher on the first full-day of school

–      Turn in your Health Form & Certified Birth Certificate
  • Submit to JCA Records Office via the Main Office
  • Original Birth Certificate must have seal
  • Freshman Physical can be used for a Sports Physical

–      Review your final class schedule, book list & locker assignment – to be mailed in July
  • Includes: student schedule, a class booklist with ordering information and a separate sheet indicating classroom materials that should be purchased from JCA during the Uniform/Lock Sale.
  
–      Attend the Class of 2025 Freshman Class Mixer
  • Thursday, July 22 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in JCA’s Heritage Quad

–      Drop off student’s laptop computer

–      Uniform Sale and Lock pick up: Purchase required uniform shirts, gym shirts, supplemental class materials (workbooks, lab supplies, etc.) & official locks

We are excited to partner with 8to18 to register our students online for sport participation. You will also receive communications from the Athletic office and coaches so be sure to add [email protected] to your address book.

You will start by creating an account. If by chance you have ever used 8to18 at another school- you can log in with the same login and password.  Use a frequently checked email account and memorable password. This is a family account.  You will use this account for all children, all seasons, and all years. Once you enter your information, you will not have to enter it again, unless you need to update information.

Please keep your log-in information handy as this is what you will use to register for any sport your child is interested in.

SCHEDULE YOUR PHYSICAL TODAY!

FALL SPORT ATHLETES: If the last physical your athlete had was ON OR BEFORE July 9, 2020, schedule the new physical today. REMEMBER: ONCE the SEASON BEGINS - 8/9/21, all athletes must have a valid physical form on file at JCA during their entire season. Hand deliver (to Athletic Department), mail (JCA/Athletic Dept., 1200 N. Larkin Ave., Joliet 60435), or Fax (815-741-3830) a copy of the new physical form to the AD’s Office prior to the expiration date. Physicals are valid for 13 months from the date of the physical.
 

You will also find a tab for registration on the athletic home page.
  • Click on “Create An Account” and enter your own email and create your own password. You will use same account information each time you register. 
  • Click on “Begin Registration”
  • Add a participant or select a participant if they are listed
  • Add a New Participant (or choose your child once created)
  • All information on this page is for your student, i.e. cell phone, email. It is important to provide their information since the school will use this to communicate with you
  • Select the sport you wish to enroll your student.
  • “Roster Details”
  • You may be asked for t –shirt
  • “Primary Parent/Guardian Information”
  • Fill out the Parent information on the next page.
  • “Legal Form”
  • You must click on each form to read and accept to move forward

  • Here you will see what you have registered for
  • You will be asked to pay the athletic fee at this time. You can pay by electronic check or credit card.
  • Click on “Finish” to complete your registration
  • You will receive an email confirmation and payment confirmation whenever a payment is made.

Future Angels and Hilltoppers,

Each summer Joliet Catholic Academy welcomes over 900 grade school students to the home of the Angels and Hilltoppers. JCA offers 20 different camps to accommodate campers' individual interests via Academic, Athletic, Activity, and Fine Art Camps. Our accomplished teachers and coaches enjoy working with campers so they can have fun, learn something new, and improve their skills. Camps are available to those of all ages, ranging from four-years-old all the way up to incoming freshmen. Some incoming freshmen camps have not been listed, and may occur in July/early August due to IHSA varsity sports seasons extending into June this summer.

Camp brochures are also mailed to area students in JCA's Admissions databased. Pre-registering online for camps is highly recommended, as some camps may be limited capacity wise due to COVID mitigations.

JCA Volleyball High School Summer Camp

Are you an incoming/returning student at JCA and interested in volleyball?

July 12-15        9 am-12 pm and 1:30-3:30 pm
19-20                9-12 pm and 1:30-3:30 p m
21-23                9-12 pm only
26-28             9-12 pm only

**On days there are two sessions, please pack a lunch, bring knee pads, volleyball shoes, and an extra pair of tennis shoes that can be worn outside.

Parking Passes

Student parking hangtags will be sold starting Wednesday, August 11 in the Dean's Office. Seniors may register from 8 a.m.-10 a.m., and underclassmen from 10 a.m.-noon. Students may purchase a parking space in the Dean's Office anytime throughout the school year if spaces are available. 
 
When registering, drivers, and/or their parents, must 
  • Show the student’s current, valid driver’s license, or a photocopy of the license. 
  • pay the $200 registration fee - cash or check.
  • register the make, model, and license plate number of the car you will be driving. 

A student may register for one other student if they have a photocopy of that student’s valid license. A senior may not register for an underclassman.
