BELTSVILLE, MD The Bethlehem University Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Corkery as the Foundation's first West Coast Advancement Officer. Jonathan will begin his position on the 1st of September.   
  
The Board of Directors of the Foundation created the position of West Coast Advancement Officer to ensure that the Foundation's donors from the Western states are better connected with the Foundation's mission by having a development officer specifically devoted to them. 
 
Jonathan considers himself to be "a resourceful relationship guy, who understands the power of relationships in development." Based in Tucson, Arizona, he brings to the Foundation years of proven success in fundraising.  
 
Jonathan is looking forward to meeting individuals, organizations, and groups to tell the inspiring story of Bethlehem University, the first and only Catholic university in the Holy Land. He not only looks forward to getting to know the Foundation's current donors and strengthening existing relationships, but to also develop new donors in order to increase financial support to the Bethlehem University Foundation. 
  
Reflecting on the appointment John Schlageter, Executive Director of the Foundation, stated: "I am so happy that Mr. Corkery has agreed to join the Foundation's team as the first West Coast Advancement Officer. To have a person with Jonathan's professional experience based in the West, will strengthen the Foundation's presence and availability to our friends in the Western states. Mr. Jonathan Corkery Brief Bio:

Jonathan Corkery is a development professional with significant fundraising achievements, strong program management skills, and fifteen years of experience in fundraising. He holds a Bachelor's of Philosophy and a Bachelor's of Theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.

Before joining the Foundation, Jonathan was the Director of Business Development at Atlantic Consulting Solutions for the past three years. His previous experience includes work at the parish, diocesan, and national level in Catholic agencies as well as working in development at the Catholic center for a major university.

Jonathan has had many significant achievements. At the Diocese of San Jose he strategized and guided the solicitation process of a $25 million dollar legacy gift, raised $2.5 million within his first five months working for the St. Paul Catholic Center at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and managed the Bishop's Appeal at Saint Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA raising more than $300,000 dollars.
