Hello JES families!

The first couple of weeks of school have been very successful! Our students have been great about wearing their masks, washing their hands, and keeping the appropriate physical distance from their friends. WE LOVE OUR STUDENTS!!

JES is a busy place! Students in all grade levels have been taking the Fast Bridge Achievement Test. These assessments cannot be studied for and are only one of several measures we use to determine individual student goals and track student growth. Kindergarten and First grade students take the Fast Bridge Early Reading and Math Assessments which are administered 1:1 with a teacher.

Students in grades 2-5 are also taking the Fast Bridge Achievement Test in their classroom. We will also begin BAS reading assessments which help teachers to identify the guided reading level of their students. Knowing your student personally as well as academically will help us in meeting their needs at school. Student progress will be shared with parent during upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences in late October/early November. More details to follow.

Again, let me know if you have questions/concerns. I am here to help!!

Look for staff members wearing yellow neon safety vests in the parent and bus loops before and after school to help assist students with any questions.
IMPORTANT - Parent Drop-Off/Pick-up

Health Office News
  1. Just a quick reminder to send a back-up pair of clothes for your child to keep in their backpack. We have already needed these in some circumstances, so thank you to those who have already done that!
  2. Remember to please check your child's symptoms each morning and if they have any of those listed in the District email sent out yesterday, please keep them home and call the Health Office. If they come to the Health Office with those symptoms I will need to have you come to pick them up. View more here: Stay Healthy.
  3. I am still in need of some medications and forms for the Health Office. Please complete the necessary paperwork and turn in as soon as you can. Also, a Student Health Form is needed on every student. If your child was here at JES last year, and there are no medical changes, I can use their form from last year. All kindergartners and students new to Jonathan need to submit a form.
Any questions or concerns, please contact Rachelle Hunnicutt, Licensed School Nurse at 952-556-6519.
Traveling Internationally
Due to COVID, anyone from our district who is traveling internationally to a moderate to high risk country will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days before they can return to school. We will be following the CDC Travel Recommendations. This would include anyone enrolling into our district from another country and foreign exchange students.
School Picture Day
Picture day is Tuesday, October 20th. Both in-person and online students will be able to have their picture taken. More details to follow.
Congratulations PAW Winners!
