Hello JES Families:

Hope this finds you staying warm with these cold temperatures and wind chills. Please make sure students come daily with appropriate gear for outside--even if we don’t go outside. They should always have gear with them in case of a bus, car or building emergency. If we have indoor recess, it will be games, etc. in the classroom. Our gym is utilized most of the day for Physical Education class.

This month is Black History Month. Each year we highlight Black History in our classrooms through books, art and music. Each classroom utilizes books from our media center as well as numerous books online about African Americans in our history. Ask your child what they are doing in their classroom.

Parent-Teacher conferences are on Thursday February 25th and Tuesday, March 2nd in the evening. They will be virtual, like last fall. Conferences are not mandatory, and if you feel like you are already connecting with your classroom teacher regularly, you do not “have” to schedule an appointment. I know that evenings are often busy with activities, so don’t let this be an extra stress point for you. Sign up is open now: https://www.myconferencetime.com/jes/

Remember that there is no school for students and staff on Monday, February 15th in honor of President’s Day.

Thanks for your continued partnership in your child’s learning!!
