Thanks to YOU, we served 46 people this month, including:

6 Individuals

11 Families

21 Children

Guests ranged in age from 2 months to 55 years old

During this time of thanks, we want to express our deep gratitude for everything you do for the families and individuals we serve. You change lives every single day! Take a look at what you made possible this month!

Russ and Jonathan got jobs!

We are so very proud of Russ and Jonathan, two of the gentlemen in our singles shelter, Evelyn's Place. They have both been working very hard to find employment ever since they joined us, and their hard work paid off in a big way this month!

Russ will be delivering medical supplies, and Jonathan got not one, but TWO jobs - one at a local grocery store, and one at a retail store.

This is a wonderful milestone in their journey through the S4 Program (Shelter, Stability, Support, Success). Help us congratulate them!

Jazzmin got her driver's license!

Jazzmin is one of the mothers at our family shelter, Easton's Promise. With the help of her case manager, she how has a driver's license! Having a license is a big step towards independence for Jazzmin and her family, and we are so happy for her!

Through partnerships with new private landlords, we were able to acquire two new transitional apartments this month, for a total of 12! There are several that we are in the process of fixing up to get ready for guests as they move towards the next step in the S4 Program, moving from the shelter into transitional housing.

If you would like to help with our apartments, including cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and moving furniture, among other things, contact Julie Lowe at 410-310-2316 or [email protected].

Homelessness comes in all shapes and sizes. This month, we welcomed Ukranian refugees Yana and Inga Olovskayas into one of our apartments. Yana and her mother Olga are sponsored by Ad Duer, who met Yana several years ago when he was exploring working as an English teacher in Ukraine. They were able to come to the United States through the Uniting for Ukraine program. We are proud to be able to provide Yana and Olga with the opportunity to get back on their feet, recover from the trauma of war, and integrate into our wonderful, welcoming community.

The parents at Easton's Promise and in our apartments have been attending Parenting Class, facilitated by our partners at For All Seasons.

Every other week, our parents gather to discuss their challenges and gain the skills and knowledge they need to engage in positive interactions and build loving, healthy relationships with their children.

The holidays are a very special time at Talbot Interfaith Shelter. Each year, our community comes together to adopt our guests and make sure they have everything they need (and a few things they want). It is truly magical to see our guests wake up on Christmas morning and witness the kindness and caring of our incredible community. They keep that feeling with them all year long, and it encourages them to keep working toward Success!

If you would like to adopt guests for Christmas this year, please contact Fran Doran at [email protected] or 410-253-5414. Thank you so much in advance for making the holidays bright for our guests!

Spotlight on Team TIS!

Spotlight on Team TIS!

It takes hundreds of people each year to ensure that our program runs smoothly... We could not do this life-changing work without YOU!

Take a few moments to watch the video and see what the extraordinary Team TIS has been up to this month!

Keep an eye out for your year-end appeal letter in the mail!

Our little elves have been working overtime so that we can share with you the incredible impact that your generosity has on the lives of the families and individuals we serve.

We need your help now more than ever, as our expansion, coupled with rising costs, have increased our annual operating budget to more than $1 million for the first time ever.

We are thrilled to announce that, for a limited time, you have the opportunity to DOUBLE THE IMPACT of your donation to TIS, thanks to a wonderful shelter supporter who has offered to MATCH the next $100,000 we raise!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has partnered with us to raise awareness for our mission during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month! It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to make our neighbors aware of the problem of homelessness in our community, and how we are working to end homelessness one person/family at a time! Thank you to:

Doc's Downtown Grille and Legal Assets, which donated 10% of the proceeds from their Thursday business in support of our mission!

Heartfields Assisted Living, which held a Thanksgiving Giveback Challenge, and rallied local businesses to collect household goods for our shelters!

Chesapeake Blooms, which donated a percentage of their proceeds from Waterfowl Weekend in support of our mission!

A Happy Place, which is collecting household goods for us (this will continue through the end of the month - bring a donation of a household item and get a coupon for 20% off the purchase of a resale item)!

The office of Dr. Quimby, DDS, which is collecting household goods for us!

The Chico's Outlet in Queenstown, which held a household goods drive for us at their store last Sunday!

The Casey Family, who launched their annual sock drive this month to benefit homeless men, women, and children in Talbot and Caroline Counties. Click HERE to find out where you can drop off a new pair of socks for our neighbors in need!

We are just over TWO WEEKS AWAY from the first weekend of our 3rd Annual Home for the Holidays winter festival! Join us at the Hummingbird Inn, 14 N Aurora Street in Easton, on December 9th-10th and 16th-17th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm to share in some holiday magic. This year's event will be bigger and better than ever!

Your ticket includes a tour of our dazzling light display, a visit with Santa Claus, joining us all the way from the North Pole, holiday-themed crafts, a variety of live local music, and festive photo booth fun! We will also have free giveaways on a first come, first served basis.
