News and Updates from Our Environmental Assessment and Remediation Team
The former Jones & Lamson machine manufacturing site in Springfield, Vermont is busy with activity this fall as contractors demolish the 266,000 square-foot building for future development. Stone has been a project partner to the Springfield Regional Development Corporation since 2015, supporting assessment and remediation efforts at the property. Following demolition, additional assessment and remedial design is expected later this year and early in 2022 to allow for subsequent construction. The project has received $3.7 million in funding through Vermont H.315 as a Brownfield Economic Revitalization Alliance (BERA) program priority site. At an event marking the start of construction, Governor Phil Scott announced $25 million in state dollars for cleaning up brownfield properties like the Jones & Lamson site around Vermont.
