Recently in a conversation with the General Church’s Director of Evangelism, Rev. Mark Bane. He explained how the emphasis of Church Planting hit a wall with Covid and has drastically slowed down. On the other side, because of the emphasis that some leaders have put on Evangelism, the North America region of the Church of the Nazarene is seeing a 7% increase in Salvations.
I believe the cause of this increase is two-fold. We are seeing the result of the Church Planting emphasis, and we are renewing the call to Evangelism. With both continuing to be enabled, I believe we can see more people coming to Christ than ever before, in North America, including the Joplin District. Let’s keep our eyes focused on our goal of 1,400 people coming to know Christ. Let’s look for opportunities to plant churches and together let’s see more people accepting a call to ministry than ever before.
Let’s keep Advancing the Kingdom of God. Let’s choose to move forward and never, ever under any circumstances, accept defeat. We serve a God who can do the unthinkable and the impossible.
