noon to 2 p.m.

Much like a PTA, the library foundation raises money to support special programs beyond the reach of the library’s regular budget. Examples include library card scholarships for children who live outside the library district, building improvements like the teen room update, and long-term needs like
new library facilities

Oregon Books sale benefits libraries

Williams Community Garden Club
|
Children of all ages and their families are invited to join the Garden Club at the
Williams branch every Wednesday from
2 to 3 p.m. beginning
May 1. Come plant seeds and plants, learn about worms and pollinators, and enjoy being out in the sunshine.

Bilingual storytime and craft
|
Join us for a special bilingual storytime and folk art paper flower craft at each branch the week of
Dia De Los Niños on the following days:
- Grants Pass branch: Wednesday, May 1 from 11:30 a.m.–noon
- Wolf Creek branch: Wednesday, May 1 from 3–3:30 p.m.
- Williams branch: Friday, May 3 from 2:30–3:30 p.m.
- Illinois Valley branch: Saturday, May 4 from noon–1 p.m.
Registration is not required.

Call or stop by your nearest branch to make a one-on-one appointment with your own personal Tech Coach or drop in to the Williams Branch between
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on

National Geographic for kids
|
Young students can broaden their horizons and have fun with content that takes them on amazing adventures in science, nature, culture, archaeology, and space.
This collection includes National Geographic Kids magazine from 2009 to the present, 200 National Geographic Kids books, and 500
kid-friendly downloadable images.

Library seeking tech-savvy volunteers
|
The library is seeking volunteers comfortable with technology to provide appointment-based assistance to patrons learning how to use computers and the internet. This position is perfect for those with busy schedules making it difficult to commit to a specific shift.
This position would work closely with Ellie to develop and facilitate computer workshops for volunteers and patrons.

Dancing with the Grants Pass Stars
|
Contestants from eight local nonprofits will be dancing for the top prize. The program takes place at
7:30 pm
on
Saturday, May 11
at the Grants Pass High School
Performing Arts Center

Native American poet, musician, and author Joy Harjo will be the focus of the second in a series of six poetry seminars taking place every other month in 2019.

Wolf Creek Easter Open House

The Wolf Creek branch of Josephine Community Library will be open the afternoon of the Wolf Creek Easter Parade and Easter Egg Hunt on
Saturday, April 20
. Join us for the following activities beginning around
1 pm
:
- A children’s book giveaway—each child who visits the library will get one free book to take home while supplies last
- A book sale to benefit the Wolf Creek Friends of the Library

Donations for the yard sale are being accepted through Friday, May 10 at the Grants Pass branch. No clothing, damaged items, or large furniture will be accepted.
