JOSHUA HARGROVE SELECTED TO JOIN ILLINOIS STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL
Hinsdale, IL – Hinsdale South High School’s Joshua Hargrove has been selected to join the Illinois State Board of Education Student Advisory Council. Each year, a group of students are selected, from around the state, to be student advisors to the board. This is an opportunity for students to see the Illinois State Board’s policymakers in action.

“I am extremely excited and thankful to be a part of something bigger than myself,” said Hargrove. “I cannot wait to see what is in store for this school year.”

As a member of the Student Advisory Council, Hargrove will have the opportunity to work alongside the Illinois State Board of Education, providing a perspective that only a student can offer.

“Josh is a wonderful leader in our building and is beloved by all members of our school community,” said Principal Arwen Pokorny Lyp. “He is passionate about improving the lives of others and is an excellent choice to represent Hinsdale South and District 86 at the state level. We could not be more proud of him.”

Members of the Student Advisory Council meet several times throughout the school year and work remotely on a research project that will be presented to the Illinois State Board of Education.
