Lent is a time of growth. It is a time of growing in sanctification, remembering God's redemptive acts, repentance, fellowship, prayer, fasting, and focusing on our baptismal covenant.

Contrary to a misconception, Lent is not about giving things up but instead about taking upon ourselves the intention and receptiveness of grace, God's grace, so we may fully participate in the mystery of God being with us!

Let us try to set a new pace this Lenten season. As we approach the Easter Triduum—Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and our Easter Vigil—how is our mission to do God's will in the world more fully realized? How are we not sprinting to Easter but taking the journey of self-discovery anew?

May the grace of Christ be with you in Lent and beyond! How do you think we should begin? May it be, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me. bless God's Holy name." Psalm 103.1
