Everyone in the streets said,
" How incomparable are the Emperor's new clothes!
What a train he has to his mantle! How it fits him!..."
"But he has nothing on!" a little child cried out at last.
Hans Christian Anderson
There is a limit to how much self-delusion we dare tolerate in ourselves or our worldview. As Christians, we may be challenged to ask three important questions: What is the foundation of our worldview? What is its size? What is at the center of our worldview?
While our worldview is usually embedded deep in our subconscious, we may lift our discovery.
For many, the foundation of our worldview is evidence-based. Still, for others, it is faith-based.
For some, our worldview is large enough to incorporate science, faith, the biblical record, Christ, and the Spirit of God.
Even if one finds an atheist in life along the journey, their worldview is their religion.
I know that Heritage UMC has a heliocentric worldview. Why? because we worship something other than ourselves, our feelings, and our dreams. We treasure absolute truth and selflessness in our lives, and I thank you!
How does Scripture remind us?
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to the one who asks.
