One of the challenges of Easter and the Resurrection season is facing our Goliaths. Do we focus on the obstacle or do we focus on God?
Do we focus on the stone at the tomb or the messenger of Good News?
Do we focus on the storm, or do we cast out for supernatural authority to quiet the waves?
Do we focus on stones to cast, or do we focus on open arms?
Resurrection season brings to awareness our giants for a reason. It is to meet the faith of Easter in daily living. It is to face God first and then to know all so deeply that our giants cannot compare.
A re-reading of 1 Samuel 17 and the story of David defeating Goliath might remind all of us that Easter conquers our fears and worries and places a new perspective in the hearts of the followers of Christ: Faith instead of fear!
